Coronavirus Update & What YOU Need to Know & Do When Making Appointments

We now have clear signage that advises patients to STOP and not enter the Practice if they have symptoms of a cough or cold, including phlegm, congestion, blocked or runny noses, sore throats, and bronchitis.

Instead, patients should ALWAYS advise reception staff if they have any of these symptoms when booking or turning up for a pre-booked appointment.

If patients are coming to the Practice with these symptoms, they should STOP and call reception from outside the Practice, preferably from their car, and discuss next steps.

Patients are encouraged to stay home and to rest with fluids and analgesia if they have the above symptoms.

Where patients are worried about the Coronavirus, they should ALWAYS make this known to reception staff BEFORE entering the Practice, and especially if they have had or are suspected or having had contact with anyone exposed to or suffering from Coronavirus, or have been ANYWHERE overseas within the last month.

We have protocols for reception to advise and liaise with Dr Steve as to what action is needed if you are so unwell that you feel that you absolutely need to see a doctor.

REMEMBER THAT IF DR STEVE CATCHES A COUGH OR COLD FROM A PATIENT, THEN THERE IS A QUESTION AS TO WHETHER HE CAN CONTINUE TO SEE ANY PATIENTS AT ALL, INCLUDING THE MANY WHO NEED HIS CARE CURRENTLY FOR THEIR ONGOING OR NON-CORONAVIRUS HEALTH ISSUES.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE PRACTICE FOR SIMPLE COUGHS AND COLDS.
