May News: Flu Jabs, Nursing Hours, and a Grand Opening!

I am pleased to announce that on Saturday, May 6th, 2019, Susan Lamb federal MP for Longman took time out of the election cycle to come and formally open the Medical division of Sycamore Health. I have known Susan for some time now, and we have previously had discussions- as our MP- about Medicare, the DVA, and the pressures and financial constraints facing GPs as we struggle to meet patient expectations and to deliver excellence in primary health care. Thanks to all of the patients who came and supported us! It was a great morning...
We now have a reasonable supply and re-supply of flu jabs coming in, as well as pneumonia, shingles, and childhood immunisations. The supply is not sufficient to organise formal flu clinics, so patients are advised to book an appointment with Nurse Helen, remembering that you still need to be seen by Dr Steve, though this can be as a fit-in appointment. There is no need to panic- I am advising that patients get their flu jabs between now and the end of May.

Helen Rose is now working a full day on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays!

Of course, I also recently had my sister, Su, over from England for the first time- we had a great holiday together. Thank you for bearing with me- I am the only Doc at Sycamore Health, but that's the nature of a boutique, personalised service- there's only one of me! Helen held down the fort fantastically in my absence.

Finally, thank you for all of your well-wishes as another of our pups has been ill and hospitalised. He's out now, if a bit fragile... welcome home again, Frodo Dax!
